It’s a Snail

Ron Brown

Listen to this song.

This song is available on Intelli-Tunes’ Buzzers, Creepers & Crawlers.

Sliding and gliding, slowly in the pond
Traveling on one foot, moving along
Scraping away at their food all day
Leaving a trail as they make their way.

Oh, it’s a snail!
It’s a snail!
Oh, it’s a snail!
It’s a snail!
A mollusk in the pond
Just trying to get along
Oh, it’s a snail!
It’s a snail!

Sliding and gliding, it’s house on it’s back
Watching for predators on the attack
Scraping away at their food all day
Using their feelers to find their way.

Oh, it’s a snail!
It’s a snail!
Oh, it’s a snail!
It’s a snail!
A mollusk in the pond
Just trying to get along
Oh, it’s a snail!
It’s a snail!

It’s a snail!

Snail I: Fantasy ©2004 Betsy True

image used with permission from owner
I took a close-up photo of a snail in the woods, in Mankato, Minnesota. I played with the color and artistic effects in Photoshop Elements and then interpreted the resulting photo in fabric.

Cotton and cotton lame fabrics and cotton batting. Fused and beaded. Machine quilted. Raw edge bias binding zig zag stitched into place. 10.5″x14″

My friend Lynda Prioleau and I are challenging each other with a series of monthly journal quilts. This was my August 2004 journal quilt.
